Mohism

Movement founded by Mozi that argued for impartial care, condemned aggressive war, and pioneered systematic argument in Chinese philosophy.

Mohism was one of the leading movements of the Warring States period (479–221 BCE). Its members, organised under a leader, preached impartial concern for all, frugality and opposition to offensive war, and offered their skills in defending besieged cities. Later Mohists wrote pioneering works on logic, language, ethics and science. The movement faded after China was unified in 221 BCE.
